Griffin Connector

Griffin Connector streamlines the preparation of inputs for coordination processes by introducing reusable, rule-based templates — independent of any specific network model. This means faster, more consistent, and more reliable data generation across your workflows. As one of key outputs, Griffin Connector supports generation of NC profiles.

With seamless integration, models can be loaded directly from your system or imported as CGMES IGM via the Enelane. Rules can be grouped, merged, and managed in lists, enabling efficient exchange with external systems and supporting critical processes such as ROSC and CSA. The tool currently supports NC profile version 2.2, and we are actively shaping the transition to version 2.4 through participation in ENTSO-E’s SV-IOP testing. Thanks to version-independent rule definitions, your investment is protected and ready for evolving standards.

Supported NC Profiles

  • Assessed Element: Contains lists of assessed network elements.
  • Contingency and Monitoring Area: Includes contingency lists (ordinary, exceptional, out-of-range), contingency equipment lists, and monitoring area definitions.
  • Remedial Action: Details grid state alterations (non-costly remedial actions) and power remedial actions (redispatching and countertrading).
  • SIS and SSI (Steady State Instruction Profile and State Instruction Schedule Profile): Contain selected attributes from other profiles, defining changes at specific points in time.
  • Remedial Action Schedule and Power Schedule : Related to RA files, containing information about the selection and volume of individual remedial actions. The RAS profile also covers activated volumes of materialised costly ORAs (Ordered Remedial Action) and contingencies, activated curative costly ORAs (for Day-Ahead/ID or FAP [Fast Activation Processes] ), and incurred costs (provisional or final).
  • Equipment Reliability: Extends equipment profiles with reliability information relevant to the ROSC process.
  • Impact Assessment Matrix: Contains evaluated impacts of remedial actions.

How It Works

Definition of Rules allows setting broad, reusable rules and parameters to identify network elements without listing each individually. Specific elements can also be defined when necessary. Rules can be grouped and managed via an intuitive interface.

Gathering of Input Data combines rules into lists and imports input data (CGMES IGM/CGM- individual/Common Grid Model) through Griffin platform’s energy data gateway (Enelane), which centralises data flows, simplifies integrations, and connects external sources with business modules.

Data Management covers creating NC lists (e.g., Contingency or Assessed Elements) from rules and models, with detailed views and edit options to ensure accuracy and relevance.

Generation & Submission produces NC profiles in required formats and securely exchanges them via Enelane using ECP, EDX, REST-API, SOAP, or SFTP. Profiles can be stored locally, with full support for the latest standards and ENTSO-E testing validation.
